Robert Horton
VP-BD
Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from TCU in 2010. He began his career as an independent field landman. After acquiring oil and gas interests throughout the L-48 for his own account, in 2017 Robert raised multiple PE funds through Stronghold Resource Partners, creating Tumbler Energy Partners, LLC, Tumbler Operating Partners, LLC and Covey Energy Partners, LLC, which successfully deployed ~$150MM across the Permian Basin. After successfully closing out Covey, Robert stepped back from Tumbler Energy in 2021 to return to managing his own energy portfolio. In October 2025, he joinged Ben and Chase to create HC Energy Partners.
Ben Carter
VP-Land
Ben graduated with a degree in Agriculture and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University in 2005. He began his career in the Land business as a field landman. After stops at ConocoPhillips and Apache, Ben served as the VP of Land for Endeavor Energy Resources, LP prior to its merger with Diamondback Energy. After the merger, Ben took the SVP of Land & Commercial role with Diamondback until his resignation in October 2025 at which point he joined Robert and Chase to create HC Energy Partners.
Chase Carter
Manager Acquisitions
Chase graduated with a degree in Agricultural Development from Texas A&M University in 2003. He had spent time in various positions across multiple industries with land management and government relations always being at the forefront. Prior to joining HC Energy Partners, Chase managed holdings in New Mexico and Texas with a focus on landowner relations.
